Looking for Future East Leroy Kindergartners and Pre-K

If you have a young student(s) who you think will be ready for school in the fall, please take time to fill out this survey. We are looking into the possibility of offering a Pre-k program as well. The data from the survey will help us understand the needs and wants of the community.

Before and After Care Survey

East Leroy is looking into the possibility of offering before and after-care. Filling out the survey below will provide us with the needs and wants of the community.

The fourth grade sex education curriculum consists of a separate video for boys and girls. These videos were published in 1976 and so it was decided that new videos need to be approved. The new videos are more appropriately classified as puberty videos and explain the changes that children go through as they grow and develop. We have purposely tried to avoid anything that is controversial. A group of parents have watched the new videos and given their approval to them. We need to hold 2 community meetings to inform the community of these changes. The videos will then be presented to the board for final approval.

The following are the principles that we follow as we present this information to fourth graders:

• School personnel do not discuss with the students any information that is not included in the movies.
• Students are encouraged to discuss with their parents all of the topics covered and strongly discouraged from discussing it with peers.

Dear East Leroy Families,

I hope you are ready for a wonderful holiday season. I want to inform you of an upcoming change to our morning building entry procedures. Beginning January 5, 2026, students will not be able to enter the building before 8:20 a.m. The doors will open at 8:20 a.m. for students who are dropped off. 

The funds previously used to staff early entry will now be reallocated to support small-group instruction in math and other skill-building academic supports. This shift allows us to better meet student learning needs during the school day. Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we work to make decisions that directly support student success.
