Recently the Athens Schools received several grants from the Athens Area Community Foundation:

- Colleen Swank received a grant to purchase 8 Chromebooks to be used for credit recovery for high school students.
- East Leroy received a grant to pay for the K-5 field trips for the year.
- Mrs. Taunt received a grant to take her US History class to the Holocaust Museum near Detroit.
- East Leroy received a Healthy Lifestyles Grant to purchase a wider variety of snacks to complement their programming with the school nurse.
- YIG received a transportation grant to be able to attend their conferences this year.
